Ceti from Poznan is one of Polands longest running heavy metal acts but they arent as well known as their fellow countrymen in Turbo or Kat. Formed in October of 1989 by Turbo singer Grzegorz Kupczyk as a side-project. With him he brought Turbo members Andrzej Lysow and Marihuana Amadea. The group was named after a 1971 NASA program called “Communication with Extraterrestrial Intelligence”. Their debut album, Czama Roza, managed to reach the charts in their home country when it came out in 1989. Their second album, Lamiastrata, helped the band getting gigs outside Poland. For the third album, Rasizm that was released in 1994, it was clear that the band wanted to take Ceti to the next level but however there were some internal issues and musical differences between guitarist Lysow and Kupczyk and it affected the end result. Rasizm was the first of the bands albums not getting commercial success on its release, besides the song Epitafium, that were played on Polish radio. Lysow left and the remaining members would go on for another year but after recording new music the band decided to release it as a Kupczyk solo album. The solo album W Imie Prawa was successful and the solo name would be used up until 2001 when they decided to go back to the old moniker of Ceti.
