When NASUM officially began in 1992, most underground enthusiasts felt that death metal and grindcore had already run its creative course. Over the next dozen years, however, these Swedes fought to keep their deeply personal and fiercely political grindcore moving forward, never surrendering to ephemeral scene trends. Tragically, co-founder Mieszko Talarczyk passed away in the Tsunami disaster of 2004.
