French black metal act Armageddon was formed in La Buisse back in 2002. Their 2005 album, Imperium Wird Durch Das Blut Wieder Aufleben (The Empire Lives Again Through Blood) is mid-tempo black metal in the tradition of old Mayhem and Darkthrone. Its obvious that the band has become better since their early days without loosing any of their identity. This album even has some melodies that are both better and stronger than their follow up album, Ave Satan. In short, Armaggedon are once again a guarantee of pure black metal quality, an underground entity that embraces everything black metal should be in a single manifestation of unprecedented violence. The album ends with a cool Beherit cover.
