Description
Album No. 3 for Helloween with Deris at the microphone was Better Than Raw, truly a strange album for the quintet. Something that they would never recreate in the future, nor had they put forth in the past. Something so inconsistent in songwriting, yet so consistently brilliant. Out of every album in their discography, Better Than Raw is still the most experimental and adventurous of their releases to date, with the obvious exception of the basically pop approach of Chameleon. This extreme level of experimental genius presented on Better Than Raw may be the reason why it is so overlooked, with the exception of the two more radio-friendly tracks that would see a release as singles. One of these two single tracks was Hey Lord a typical fun Helloween track. The single features exclusive material on the B-side. We have a live version of Perfect Gentlemen , a track from Master Of The Rings and the Kusch and Grapow penned track Moshi Moshi Shiki No Uta. The production is excellent, all the band members are without mention playing to their ability, the cover artwork is kickass so any fan of Helloween or power metal should get this now.
Track list:
