My So-Called Life is the second album by the Chicago-based nu metal music group From Zero. The band got great reviews for their aggrometal debut album, One Nation Under. Whats obvious as soon as you hear the album is that singer Jett and the boys arent so angry anymore. The band has taken in producer Warren Riker that has worked with artists in a totally different genre (Fugees, Lauryn Hill). Together they have tried to broaden their sound. The album came out in 2003 and the the genre of Nu metal had already peaked in 2001 with Linkin Park’s diamond-selling album Hybrid Theory and the bands record label turned their back on them and didnt care about promoting the album. The album didnt sell anything near their debut and they soon found themselves without record label. The album also features a metal cover version of Phil Collins, I Dont Care Anymore. So if you like Nu metal or not its still worth owning this album just for the sake of this cover.
