Italian power metal act Shadows Of Steel released a double EP called Twilight in 1997 with one disc of 3 new tracks and a remix of Fly Away from the first album and one disc of classic covers. Then in 2022 the band released another double EP called Twilight II with 4 new tunes and 4 more covers. Then in 2024 this 2022 EP was releaed in Usa as a full length album adding 3 new tracks and 1 more cover. Shadows Of Steel was founded by vocalist Wild Steel (ex Projecto) and keyboardist Andrew McPauls (ex Labyrinth), the current line-up completed by guitarists Ice Reaven and Andrew Spane (No Man Eyes), drummer Matt Peruzzi (Labyrinth, Vision Divine), and bassist Fabio Zunino (ex Projecto). The opening track Call Of Shadows surging outta the blocks at blistering speed. The band knows how to write great tunes. The covers are all well-known tracks but if you didnt know the tracks then you’d swear that several of these would have been Shadows Of Steel originals as the whole feel and vibe fits in with the bands root power metal sound. Overall, a varied album of power metal featuring speed, thunder, foot stomps and an array of very good cover songs.
