Gotham City, from Umea, need no special introduction. Along with Heavy Load, Overdrive and a few other bands set the foundations for the powerful Swedish classic metal scene of today. Their same-titled 7” single, their EP Black Writs and their only full length release The Unknown are highly sought after collector’s items and among the most highly praised Scandinavian metal releases. Black Writs is a true Swedish underground gem. From the storming power metal rushes of Monsters Of Rock and the title track to the heavy metal riffing of lead and gold in 1995 and Born To Rock Hard, this band was all about shitkicking, very hard and heavy, riff-oriented Euro-metal a la Crossfire, Acid, Sad Iron, Steeler etc, with a teeny-weeny Manowarish edge of fist-held-high True Metal pomp and circumstance, especially in the lyrics department. Besides the mega rare EP of the band we also get 9 rare bonus tracks taken from demos recorded during 1983
