Farsoth is a Swedish old school metal act formed in 2020 by guitarist Jari Kuusisto (Leech, In Thy Dreams, Godsic). He was joined by the following seasoned musicians, vocalist Joakim Mikiver (Prosperity, Vituperation, Tormention), bassist Jonas Magnusson (Facebreaker, Ashes, Kill Captain Killer) and second guitarist Kristofer Elemyr (Mortellez, Ereb Altor, Sectu). Elemyr sadly passed away in December of 2022 and a new guitarist were found in Johnny Nymark (One Hour In Hell, Oxide, Fuel For Nightmares). In their hour of need they turned to the vastly experienced Teddy Möller (F.K.U., Anima Morte, Gauntlet Rule, Loch Vostok), a multi instrumentalist and vocalist who famously appeared as Septic Ted on the Strapping Young Lad album City. When you listen to their second album, Morbid Symphonies, its clear that these lads loves death metal as they have created an album full of passion for the style. The title track also comes with a guest appearances by Alexander Högbom of October Tide. All in all, Morbid Symphonies isn’t reinventing any wheels but every song is solid as a rock and there is just enough variety where boredom doesn’t have a chance to set in. Farsoth has hit their goal, to deliver an album that simply is a classy old school death metal.
