Double cd in digipak cover. Limited 100 copies

The Animalize tour was the most successful that Kiss had done since the original line-up. It had an exciting stage show and the band had found a line-up that could deliver better live than the band had done in years. Eric Carr could play things that Peter Criss couldn’t and Mark St John had been replaced by Bruce Kulick. Just months after the ending of that tour this line-up released their first studio album, the gold selling album Asylum. And before the year was over the band were already back on the road for the 91 show long Asylum tour. The Walking Around The World album features a shwo from University of Illinois Pavillion on the 17th of January 1986 as well as material from their show at Madison Square Garden in New York on the 16th of December 1985. If you managed to find shows from the 1985 part of the tour then you will get a chance to hear the track Wont Get Fooled Again as that track was then dropped for the restart of the tour after the Christmas break. For the 1986 shows the band brought W.A.S.P. with them as an opening act. Kiss and Wasp together seemed like a nightmare for Tipper Gore and a wet dream for heavy metal lovers. However the critics werent that impressed not atleast then ones that saw the Illinois show. One critic wrote the following in Chicago Sun Times the day after the show; W.A.S.P., of course, was a main target of Tipper Gore and the Washington Wives, who brought the band’s previously unknown Animal (F–k Like a Beast) to the attention of the musical mainstream. KISS was somehow ignored by the Wives. If I were the band, I’d sue for equal recognition. ‘I’ve been reading a lot in the newspapers about me and my boys here,’ sneered W.A.S.P.’s Blackie Lawless. ‘They say we are sexual perverts. They say we’re every parent’s worst nightmare.’ Actually, both bands proved pretty harmless. Where W.A.S.P.’s performances once included raw meat and the drinking of blood, the band now excites the audience by throwing posters into the crowd. Despite songs with titles like “Sex Crime,” “Wild Child” and “Love Machine,” these guys aren’t perverts, they’re merchandisers. As for KISS — or do you say Kiss? — It seems to have turned up the aggression once members off their makeup. Where the band’s performance once had a cartoonish appeal, its music has since degenerated into lowest-common-denominator metal clichés. And it seems that the louder KISS shouts, the fewer ears it reaches. Although its label insists that the band’s records still sell in the millions, its show at the Pavilion didn’t draw enough fans to open the balcony. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are the only original members left in the band. Whatever original ideas they had left long ago”
