Description

Gravelands eleventh pagan opus ‘Spears Of Heaven’ was released in the spring of 2009. Lyrically Rob Darken still deals with the standard Viking battle stuff, venerating Wotan and reveling in ancient temples and lost magics. After a nice sampled chorus intro to the title track, the album builds up momentum that only relents in the last track. That last song ‘Return to the Northern Carpathian’ pulls back the ferocity for the first four or five minutes to focus on the atmosphere. It is a solid piece and since Graveland have been around now for 15 years they deserve their place in this crowded genre Track listing: 1. Spears of Heaven 2. Walls of the Red Temple 3.
