Italian act Strana Officina was born in Livorno back in the middle of the seventies. The band was based around the two brothers Fabio and Roberto Cappanera that together with bass player Enzo Mascolo starts to play Rory Gallagher,AC/DC,J.Hendrix and Black Sabbath songs. After a couple of different singers the ball finally starts rolling when they find Daniele Bud Ancilloti. They release their historical debut EP in 1984 and follow it by their second EP The Ritual in 1987. The Ritual was the first one to be sang in English. Their first full length album Rock N Roll Prisoners are highly anticipated and released in 1989 and makes the band one of the best and biggest to come out of Italy. Tragic hit the band in 1993 when the two brothers Rolando and Roberto are killed in a car crash. Its not just a loss for the band but also a huge loss for the Italian metal scene. The band cant continue after this tragically loss and calls it a day. During the years of silence the band becomes one of the most respectable bands and missed bands in Italy. In 2006 Enzo and Bud agree on headlining Italys biggest metal festival God Of Metal with the help of Robertos son Rolando and cousin David Cappanera. This is such a magic moment for Enzo and Bud that they agree on continuing with the two Cappaneras and in March of 2010 the band finally returns with a new album with 8 new tracks and two old re-recorded ones. Rising To The Call sounds like an album made out of the purest metal and an album that picks up right where they left off. Enzo and Bud have shown their love for their past and this is an album that should be bought and listen to with love and respect.
