Description

Traditional metal act Blaspheme were one of better ones to come out of France in the early 80s (among bands like High Power and Voie De Fait). They released two classic albums, Blaspheme (1983) and Desir De Vampyr (1985) before disbanding in 1986. They reunited for a few gigs during the 90s and a full reunion took place in late 2007. Original members Marc Fery, Pierre Holzhaeuser and Philippe Guadignino then, together with new drummer Aldrick Guadagnino, released their first studio effort in 15 years when they released Briser Le Silence in September of 2010. Already with the opening track ‘The Crow’ the band reveals that the lovely Priest and Maiden similarities are still there. In general the songs are mid-tempo and have a simple construction, where rock n' roll riffs and the vocals play the main role. So don't expect any virtuoso spectacles or technical and progressive tricks, but simple, yet solid and honest heavy metal and all sung in French like in the early years. Fans of music that strongly breathes the spirit of the glory days should definitely check this out. This album also comes with a bonus live dvd recorded at the Hellfest festival on the 20th of June in 2010. Track listing: 1. The Crow 2. Briser Le Silence 3. Carpe Diem 4. Coeur Denfant 5.
