Description

This is the legendary vinyl album ‘Killing Yourself To Die’ and it is a really brilliant piece of work. It was recorded at Olympen in Lund, Sweden on the 21st of April 1977 (during their Technical Ecstasy Tour). It was recorded on a Technics RS-686 tape recorded and the sound quality is unbelievable for being an audience recording. Lund 1977 is the finest recording of a complete show from the Technical Ecstasy tour there is. The line-up was of course the classic Iommi, Osbourne, Butler, Ward and keyboard work were done by Gerald Woodruffe. ‘Killing Yourself To Die’ was released by Stoned records in Sweden. They released 6 albums back in 1977 and 1978 and recorded four more that never went out for sale before the people behind the label got busted in August of 1978. The four releases that never got released were E.L.O., David Bowie, Genesis and Bob Dylan all recorded in Sweden and Denmark in the summer of 1978. This Black Sabbath disc comes with a beautiful gatefold cover with exclusive pictures taken by Stoned records. This album was released twice. 500 copies were made in 1977 but then misspelled with the title ‘Killing Yorself To Die’ while the second press of 500 copies that were made in 1978 hade the correct spelling on the cover. There are so many great things about this recording. The history about it, the great quality of everything and then the band perform a stunning version of the track ‘Gypsy’. Not many of these have survived during the years and both versions fetch high prices. If you can afford it then buy it as it will be worth it Track listing: 1. Supertzar/Symptom Of The Universe 2.
