Description
Formed in 1969 by the Norwegian trio of guitarist Jan Loseth, keyboard player Kenny Aas and drummer John Lorck, Titanic achieved most of their success in France and even moved there after a momentous appearance at the Cannes film festival. In 1971 the group hit the number 1 spot in France with 'Sultana' and also made minor waves in Britain and Germany, scoring a hit in the latter country with 'Santa Fe'. Having acquired a reputation for playing a fairly easy going form of 70s hard rock, Titanic moved towards a more blues based direction after the departure of Kenny Aas (replaced by Helge Groslie) and eventually split in 1977 when no further success came along. 16 years after the event Loseth and vocalist Roy Robinson reunited and put a new incarnation of the group together with bassist Runnar Gjosung and drummer Trond Rabben. This is the original Dutch pressing of ‘Sultana’ the track that became a small hit for the band in 1971. ‘Sultana’ is taken from the bands ‘Sea Wolf’ album Track listing: 1. Sultana 2. Sing Fool Sing
