Description

2012 digitally remastered edition with redesigned 16-page booklet featuring a scrapbook style memorabilia clippings of the band's history. Slammer's The Work Of Idle Hands… must be one of the most American sounding British thrash metal albums from the late 1980s. This is partially due to the professional, dynamic production by Mark Dodson, who also produced some Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies albums, but in addition Slammer's style is very similar to most American bands of the time. On this debut Slammer played smooth thrash metal of the highest calibre. This was the bands single shot of metallic brilliance and all who heard it thought Slammer had the best chance of any of the bands to break big. But, as heard far too regularly, piss poor promotion and other extenuating circumstances all proved fatal to the band's chances at glory. Slammer would go on and release more albums but they feel more generic. This was the album that should have break the band into the big league. ‘The Work Of Idle Hands’ is a shredder. Extremely catchy and highly accessible. If your into more accessible thrash like Testament then you won't be disappointed with this. Track listing 1. Tenement Zone 2. If Thine Eye 3. Johnnys Home 4. Razors Edge 5. Hellbound 6. Hunt You Down 7. Gods Prey 8. Fight Or Fall 9. No Excuses 10. Born For War
