Growing up with Bathorys epic era in their hearts, it comes as no surprise that their music would somewhat flaunt the influence of their house gods. With the anthems of Bathory as their spiritual foundation, Ereb Altor set out to find their creative and unique niche within the epic Viking metal genre. In early 2007 Mats and Ragnar (the doom masters behind Isoles dark anthems) heeded the call of the one-eyed elder to enter Apocalypse Studio and record a full-length album. The debut album was titled By Honour and the response was overwhelming and inspiring so Mats and Ragnar set up to record the follow up The End. Their fourth album Fire Meets Ice features Ereb Altors traditional elements: hypnotic melodies and sweeping parts and they summon the norse Gods again and take the best parts from each sound of the bands history to create a varied masterpiece.
