Never for sale and highly collectable releases Rare drug bag handed out in promotional purpose featuring the Marijuana single on green vinyl with an exclusive Brujeria sticker and a box of matches Brujeria (Spanish for witchcraft) is some sort of a Mexican/American super group. The band was formed in 1989 by Juan Brujo, Fantasma, Billy Gould (Faith No More) and Dino El Asesino Cazares (who formed Fear Factory around the same time); then other members joined. They were on hiatus numerous times due to members leaving or being constantly involved in other bands. The members of Brujeria portray Mexican drug lords who use nicknames to keep their identities secret. Most people still don't know the actual identities of the band but people can only assume that the mentioned people above are in the band. After their third single El Patron (1994) the band took a turn into a more regular death metal sound for their second album Raza Odiada (1995). In 1997 the band returned with their fourth single Marijuna with the line up of Fantasma (Pat Hoed) on Bass, Hongo (Shane Embury from Napalm Death) on bass, Grenudo (Raymond Herrera from Fear Factory) on drums and the two Mexicans Pinche Peach and Juan Brujo on screams and vocals. The only original song on here is a nice little parody song called Marijuana. It's a nice song; a nice intro/filler. It'll make you laugh. It's basically a death metal version of the old dance song Macarena. Despite the fact that it's somewhat of a filler, it's still a very entertaining and catchy song, and again, a nice break from the constant assault these guys place upon your eardrums. Besides this song, there is a redo of an old classic Matando Gueros from their debut album. Don't worry, it's not done in the new direction style, it's basically just redone with better quality, while still retaining it's original brutality, if not adding more. If you can find any of Brujerias first four single then buy them in a heartbeat. This band is absolutely perfect to my ears and simply cannot be duplicated. Track listing: 1. Marijuana 2. Matando Gueros 97
