Description

The story of Massive Decay starts back in Nordlingen, Germany in 1991 when a few friends starts a cover band called Critical Mass that changes name to Maidstone later the same year. The band would go through several line-up changes before they started writing their own songs in 1993. The band name were then Altered State. 1994 started with a bang when the band performed a cram packed gig on the 5th of February under the new name of Massive Decay at a youth centre in Oettingen. More gigs followed and then in May of 1995 the band went into the Brickhouse studios to record their debut album together with Albrecht Bibber Felsenstein as producer. The recording process lasted until the 29th of June and in mid August the album Black Eternity was released. The band performs some technical and progressive metal with both doom parts, thrash riffs, spoken goth vocals and many other odd parts which makes it quite interesting. Massive Decay would release one more album, Timeless And Fanatic, in 1998 before calling it a day in 2000. Track listing: 1. Inspirations 2. Black Eternity 3. Psycho Dying 4. Suffer My Pain 5. The Excruciating Betrayer 6. Coarse Designations 7. Unrestrained Living 8. The Union Of Spirits 9. Inhuman
