Anthemic and legendary are two words that instantly spring to mind when describing Agnostic Front’s music and influence on the Hardcore Punk movement. `My Life, My Way’ is another slab of in your face Hardcore recorded by Erik Rutan and produced by the expert guidance of Freddy Cricien that unlike the early days has a crisp and very polished production. Of course the early recordings were always about capturing a vibe and lifestyle/movement that 30 years later still sounds as fresh and meaningful as it did in 1980! Moreover, the albums artwork according to the band; `Was to capture the D.I.Y. ethic!’ Undoubtedly this has been achieved. Sustaining quality song writing and catchy vocal lines/melodies has never been a problem for a band that clearly has one of the most instantly recognisable sounds and vocalists in the business! Humming riffs and singing along to tracks is always a clear measure of success and as previously acknowledged describing a bands music as anthemic after 30 years is the best accolade a musician can receive. This isn’t down to anything other than living and breathing Hardcore, Hardcore and more Hardcore. `My Life, My Way’ still represents the way Agnostic Front live their life and isn’t as some critics have said; `Them going through a mid-life crisis!’ Agnostic Front have and always will be at the forefront of the Hardcore/Punk movement both defining a genre musically and lifestyle to match. Long live Agnostic Front – long live the Old School !
