Description

Blue marbled vinyl. Limited 100 copies

Between 1990-1992, little was heard from one of the 1980s’ most theatrical metal bands, W.A.S.P. Many assumed they’d broken up, especially when it became publicly known that the entire band had split from leader Blackie Lawless (the most surprising departure being longtime guitarist Chris Holmes). But the truth of the matter was that Lawless was hard at work the entire time, composing an epic concept album, 1992’s The Crimson Idol, which told the tale of a tormented rock star, Jonathan. This album will probably be seen upon as the bands/Lawless masterpiece for all eternity as he proved with this album that he was a great music writer and composer (for those who still doubted his ability). After the release of this album the band performed at the classic Monsters Of Rock festival at Donington Parik in 1992. W.A.S.P. at the times was Blackie Lawless with Doug Blair on guitar, Johnny Rod on bass (great backup singer) and always loyal drummer Stet Howland. The band performs mostly material from The Crimson Idol together with The Who cover The Real Me that anyone that has followed the band live until this day probably have grown tired of. Back in 1992 we hadnt. Then we have two classics in Wild Child and I Wanna Be Somebody. It would have been fun to have more songs but that was the playing time the band had at the 1992 festival. So listen and enjoy
