Description
Kai Hansen left Helloween in 1989 because, as he saw it, the band was straying from its roots in high-speed yet melodic, British-derived metal. His refusal to bow to trends and stick to the style he clearly loves is admirable and the highlights on ‘Powerplant’ is many. The first track, Anywhere in the Galaxy, is the real high-speed masterpiece on the album and features a fantastic guitar solo from Mr. Hansen. Hansen sings very epic which makes you think of his old Helloween times and ends up in singing along without being able to stop: terrific! Kai knows his music, and this is an excellent Speed/Power album. It's worth adding to the ol' collection, because it features a lot of good ass-kicking music and quite an assortment of covers.
