Kiss have always had an approach to their fans that on the one hand could be seen as ridiculously crass and on the other as truly generous. In 2006 and 2007 Kiss released three volumes of Kissology, a dvd series crammed with material from 1974 to 2000. For most people outside of Usa, that grew up on Kiss music but never had the chance to see the band live or on TV during their heydays, this really was a dream come through. Finally we could experience live material from the make-up period that we only previously had experiences on multi copied vhs bootlegs that had been traded around the world several times before it reached us. Like if these 3 dvds wasnt enough there were also special bonus discs released for companies such as Walmart, Best buy and so on. So in the end it was something like 18 dvds you had to collect, thats a lot of Kiss material if you ask me. So you think that was it? Think again. In 2008 Apocalypse Sound released Kissology the companion Volume 1 spanning material from 1974-1977. This presented even more material for us in a nice digipak single dvd release and two years later we had Kissology the companion Volume.2 from the same label. Overall these two companion dvds should be a must have for anyone that have spend a lot of money to get all those first 18 dvds and still need to see more Kiss on their TV’s, yes those loyal hordes of Kiss Army fans are still out there. For anyone just wanting to find out what the Kiss hype was all about then the first Kissology is probably more than enough
