Description

Double album on black vinyls. Exclusive Record Store Day 2020 release. Limited 7000 copies

This Special Forces Tour recording was recorded on the 19th of February; 1982 at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow, Scotland. This album reflects the period which saw Alice return to the limelight after numerous personal problems in the late 70s. Vocally he wasn’t on top of his game but his numerous little lyrical changes combined with the much slower pace of the set, including a much less heavy keyboard approach made for a refreshing re-invention of the classic numbers as well as the new output. Included is a magical rare performance of the classic Clones (We’re All) which some very solid backing vocals and even the done a million times over tracks such as Billion Dollar Babies and the like receive a new lease of life and just sound so fresh, with the Scottish crowd chanting and yelling when ever they get they chance which helps to create a great atmosphere. This was typical of the reception that Britain gave Alice at the time, and because of this Alice released a special EP For Britain Only which was only issued in Britain in 1982 to show his appreciation. That 12” included four tracks recorded by Radio Clydes Mobile Two in Glasgow this night but now finally we can enjoy the complete show
