Double album on black vinyls with gatefold cover
On Yeah, Def Leppard have created a heartfelt and hard rocking tribute to their musical heroes of the late 60’s and 70’s – the Kinks, Badfinger, T. Rex, David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, Faces and Thin Lizzy. And I guess you’re going to be damned if you do, damned if you don’t. You either remain faithful to the original, in which case why bother; or drift so far way that, again, why bother. On this basis the Lepps have managed to tread a very fine line. They treat the originals with respect but apply their own crunchy guitars. So, provided you know what you’re letting yourself in for with a covers album this is really very good indeed. So by recording essential versions of the music that influenced their youth, the band have brilliantly merged the Now with the Then to create a buzz that can only be summed up in one word: YEAH!
