In 1997 the Italian horror act Death SS released Do What Thou Wilt, which was the first album since Heavy Demons 6 years earlier. The album was a concept album entirely inspired by the magical work of Aleister Crowley and the song Baron Samedi was released as the first single from the album. The track is based on the spirits of the dead, called Loa in the Haitian Vodoo tradition, that guards the cemeteries and controls the cross-roads between the earth and the dead. Baron Samedi is one of those loa’s. The track has remained on the bands live set list since its release and have become a fan favorite. Back in 1997 it was released as a 3-track cd single then in 2019 it was released as a two track vinyl single in a limited run of only 30 copies only offered to Cursed Coven subscribers. This 2021 vinyl re-issue features the 3-track from the cd single as well as a live version of the title track performed by the current line-up of the band. The artwork is based on the limited 7” artwork.
