Description
Double album on black vinyls with gatefold cover
The Ukrainian blackened-death/doom metal offensive in 1914 continues to bring the unpleasant past into the here and now and also thematises the cruel events of the First World War on album number three Where Fear And Weapons Meet. On a total of eleven tracks and manifested in pure, melodic hardness, the quintet pays tribute to all those who had to let their lives during this cruel period – all the soldiers and their exploits that must never be forgotten. Already with their debut, Eschatology Of War (2014) as well as the subsequent The Blind Leading The Blind (2018), 1914 were able to convince fans and critics alike through their meticulous and detailed examination of history, packed into an impressive sound spectrum. What the band musically transported is just as raw and ruthless as the theme that was fully committed in 1914. Massively brutal blackened death metal, accented by dramatic soundscapes and provided with an approach of sludge and doom also sets the tone on Where Fear And Weapons Meet. Through well-founded research and an almost endless urge to know, the latest work of the Ukrainians receives authenticity that deserves absolute respect.
