Romanias first funeral doom act Aabsynthum returned with their second album called ‘Inanimus’ in the summer of 2011. This second album continues much in the same style as their debut. ‘Inanimus’ has a general feeling of anxiety, despair and existential trauma. Throughout the whole album there is some kind of aura that shines out a dark light and covers the mind in a blanket of silent introspection. It is almost as if member Gabriel is the undertaker at a funeral and the funeral is divided into separate ceremonies that are represented by each individual track. The philosophical systematic of uniqueness and coherence is definitely represented by this album, as every track has its own unique character and ceremony. The artwork of this album is definitely complementary to the music. Just by looking at the artwork, you already get the idea that you will be overthrown by a typical funeral doom kind of angst.
