Description
Adept is a Swedish metalcore band from Vagnhärad, Trosa, formed in 2004. The same year their first EP, Hopeless Illusions, was released. In 2005 their second EP, When The Sun Gave Up The Sky, was released and the following year they released their third EP, The Rose Will Decay. Their third EP was the last one to include the original bassist Andreas Carlsson. The Rose Will Decay starts with an intro that consists of some drumbeat, a riff and some spoken words. This doesnt say anything where this album is going but then comes, Let’s Celebrate Gorgeous! You Know Whose Party This Is, a track that will tear everything apart. Its intense with some great singalongable screamo choruses. Next track, Incoherence; Blessed Upon A Phrase, follows the same pattern as the track before but never really reaches the same hight except when vocalist Anders Ljung sings, It was my pleasure to be your toy. The fourth tracks is one of those you love just be reading the title, At Least Give Me My Dreams Back You Negligent Whore. How can anyone go wrong with a tune like that. Angry and bitter and a pure pleasure to listen to. Last out we have, An Ode To Norah Barnes, which is the tracks that infuses most metal influences. Overall a really strong EP that shows the strengths of this band. Should be a must have for metalcore fans
