Former Abba member Agnetha Fältskog’s third solo album in English would be her last solo album for 17 years. And the birth of the album goes as far back as 1978 when Abba performed with Chicago at an Unicef charity show. Peter Cetera had a desire to collaborate with Fältskog and kept sending her songs that he thought would be suitable for her. Peter Cetera even managed to convince Fältskog to come and record the songs in Lons Angeles and Malibu, which thanks to Fältskogs fear of flying wasnt an easy thing. The end result however was all worth it. Cetera and Fältskog duet on the track I Wasn’t The One (Who Said Goodbye) and it became a Top 20 Adult Contemporary Hit on the Billboard chart in the US. The album became Sweden’s best-selling LP of 1988, where it remained at No. 1 for eight weeks. It reached the Top 20 in Norway and the Netherlands as well. Overall a crystal clear produced pop album full of hit singles. Fältskog felt that I Stand Alone, despite the lack of her own songs, was her most personal album. Worth checking out
