Aina is one of the most artistic metal projects out there. I would say that this metal opera can be quite judged from two points of view. The first and most obvious one is the music. Musically, Days of Rising Doom features some formulaic power/symphonic metal songs similar to Rhapsody of Fire or Avantasia. However, all songs were conscientiously written and composed, as well as arranged to the last detail. The production is also clear as hell, so that it gives the listener the impression he's really watching a The Lord of the Rings-like epic film. On the other hand, Days of Rising Doom can also be judged by its merit regarding to the literary content in it, I’m telling you. Let us be honest: it is definitely neither the most original nor mature fairy tale ever, yet it’s far from being a bad told one. From song to song, the lyrics allow the listener to actually get to know the characters, to the point that predicting an outcome wouldn’t be impossible for the attentive one, even though they aren’t quite clichéd. The bonus material contains different versions of the songs as well as a narrated and musical version of the tale.The way I see it, Days of Rising Doom plus The Story of Aina are together such a combo to be listened to with special attention.
