Description

A great triple cd featuring three legenday radio broadcast from the 1970s

Disc 1: Live at The Great Western Forum, Inglewood, California, 18th June 1975
The Great Western Forum in Inglewood not only played host to this theatrical extravaganza, it also acted as HQ for a live broadcast of the evenings proceedings which could be heard across the United States in superb FM quality for all – or at least those inclined – to hear. The body of the performance is of course taken from Welcome To My Nightmare, but Alice was quite aware the crowd wanted to hear a few established classics too, and so rousing versions of No More Mr. Nice Guy, Im Eighteen, Billion Dollar Babies and – of course, being a summer show – Schools Out peppered the set accordingly. This double album contains the full broadcast made on that hot June night some 36 years ago, and while few would argue that Alice Cooper was not amongst the finest showmen of the Rock age, the recording here reminds us that at this juncture in his career he was quite possibly the finest performer alive

Disc 2: Live at The Wendler Arena, Saginaw, Michigan, 10th May 1978
Alice Cooper is legendary as one of Rock s greatest showmen, having incorporated guillotines, snakes, dancing teeth, electric chairs and all manner of pyrotechnics into his amazing live performances. But – as this excellent live broadcast from at Wendler Arena, performed May 10th 1978 superbly attests – Alice always had the rock-solid musical muscle to back up all the over-the-top onstage theatrics! As this excellent live broadcast from at Wendler Arena, performed May 10th 1978 superbly attests – Alice always had the rock-solid musical muscle to back up all the over-the-top onstage theatrics! This gig was something of a homecoming for Alice, Saginaw being located just northwest of his birthplace in Detroit, Michigan. Playing along side Alice on this live set are two long-term stalwarts from the band of another great showman, Elton John: Davey Johnstone on guitar and bassist Dee Murray.

Disc 3: Live at The The Sports Arena, San Diego, California, 9th April 1979
This show was originally released on VHS back in 1979 and has been unavailable (officially, anyway) for more than 30 years. This was recorded live on April 9, 1979, in San Diego during a stop on the Madhouse Rock Tour, in support of the From The Inside album. The show was inspired by Coopers stay in a New York sanitarium and the people he met there. Vincent Price introduces the proceedings as ghoulish doctors and transvestite nurses cross paths with dancing bottles of alcohol. All the while, Cooper performs songs from his From The Inside album and a healthy serving of his other hits. Two songs from the show, ‘All Strapped Up’ and ‘Dead Babies’ were omitted for unknown reasons but it doesnt take away that much from this extravaganza show. For the first time ever on official cd here is the shock rock master Alice Coopers Live In San Diego 1979
