Alien On My Mind is a German melodic progressive metal band. It started more or less with the b and Hydrotoxin in 1995, a band formed by keyboard player Oliver Hintz, guitarist Andreas Kienitz and bass player Mathias Vogel. The band released ain instrumental album that lead to a record deal. It was then that vocalist Jioti Parcharidis and drummer Olaf Hofmeister joined to release the album Oceans. However it was after that the band seems to have been fallen apart as they all were involved in other things. Keyboard player Hintz and drummer Olaf Pelle Hofmeister went on to Alien On My Mind with Desaster Area vocalist Michael Kinzel. Their self titled debut album was released as a real silver pressed cd on Oliver Hintz Records. This was a real suprise of an album for those who managed to hear it. Both melodic metal and progressive fans sought for this album. The band got signed directly to a German label called Urwerk Records that re-released the album with a slightly new cover artwork in 1997 to broaded the bands distribution. The Japanese label Brunette released the album in Japan as well in 1997. Unfortunately this band didnt took off and fell apart. This one and only album is a perfect prog album that mixes the likes of Skeptic Sense, Life Artist, Jesters March, Ivanhoe and Secrecy. Well worth checking out
