With their debut, Man Or Machine (2011), this band quickly ranked as serious contender in the competition for the best new hope in waiting alongside with old-school revival figures as Enforcer, White Wizzard, Holy Grail, Steelwing and Striker. With the follow-up Beneath The Surface the band improved on most levels and its a technically well-crafted album. Singer Stephen Dietrich shows his pure skills here with the sky-high-pitched range that feed an intense fast vibrato in the true tradition of Michael Kiske. Its ofcourse 80s influenced metal, think Lizzy Borden, Lethal, Fates Warning, Queensryche and the tracks on here are perfectly mastered. We also get two bonus covers, S.D.I., a Loudness tracks opening their 1987 album Hurricane Eyes and a great rendition of Flight Of The Warrior from the legendary Riot era Thundersteel. Great metal doesn’t belong to a particular decade, so bands such as Alpha Tiger shows that this is a vital musical genre and shows that metal is forever.
