Amorphis is one of the sure values coming out of Finland. Everybody knows (or should know) their early history as a melodic death band. 1994’s Tales From The Thousand Lakes remains to this day a classic album. I guess people were expecting another progressive doom death metal after The Karelian Isthmus but Tales From The Thousand Lakes is is high above everything one might have thought of. The album presented us with a mixture of melodic death metal with many folk influences and some progressive and psychedelic parts. The album was truly diversified and innovating in every sense of the two words. And how did this this work out live? Well for those who werent there in 1994 this abum gives you a good idea. This soundboard recording from Cleveland, Ohio on the 25th of September 1994 has been traced down and pressed onto this very limited album. And its something to treasure, Amorphis was still an up and coming band and when this was recorded they had been given the opportunity to support Entombed on their American tour. Fans of Tales From The Thousand Lakes era of Amorphis need this one
