Description

Amsterdam was a Californian hardrock act that started out playing music that played music that sounded like Lillian Axe meeting Motley Crue. Amsterdam was fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Ronnie Borchert, accompanied by Bill Double O (guitar), Ronny Allen (bass/vocals), and John Homan (drums). They actually started out as Trixie and vocalist Ronnie Borchert kept Trixie somewhat active during the Amsterdam years as well. After their first album the band however took a totally different route and became more modernized and much heavier. Gone was the sound of the 80s hardrocking band and instead the album The Santa Clara Syndicate (several tracks were recorded at the Grumpy Wolf Studios in Santa Clara) sounds more like grunge with chuncky metal riffs. There are some nice tracks here like My Salvation but dont expect anything that sounds like their debut.
