Description

Anna-Lena Laurin, a Swedish composer and pianist living in Malmo. Anna-Lena has composed for bands / solo artists / conductors such as the Royal Philharmonic, Malmö Opera Orchestra, Camerata Nordica, Norrlands Operan, Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica Municipal de Mar del Plata, Argentina, Radio Sweden, Håkan Hardenberger, Göran Söllscher, soprano Piia Komsi, Fredrik Malmberg, Anders Bergcrantz, Richie Beirach, Andrew Manze, Anna-Maria Helsing, Mats Rondin, Gitta-Maria Sjöberg and Thomas Söndergaard among many, many others, and her music is performed around the world in concerts as well as on radio and television. Through her symphonic orchestral work The Painter and the album Anders Bergcrantz Plays The Painter by Anna-Lena Laurin, she has been praised as the Composer of the Year # 2 at The 37th Annual Jazz Station Awards / The Best Jazz of 2015 in Los Angeles. She also won the Swedish Radio award Jazzkatten in 2013 as the composer of the yer and her work “Concerto For Flute, Strings And Harp” and “Concerto For Guitar” was nominated by SMFF one of the most significant works in Sweden the years 2011 to 2016. She also played in several Malmo based groups before she decided to mostly work as a composer. A few solo album was also released, “Dance In Music” released in 1994, were the first.
