Poland is probably the country that had the most record labels in the world that only released cassettes. But even though there were lots of labels the market was still small as they only printed these for their own market inside of Poland. And a label in one town maybe lacked the distribution for another town and so on. A Warzaw or Krakow label might print more copies of a tape then labels from a smaller town. So even if there are thousands of releases you will notice how rare some are if you start to try to list the catalog number of one particular label. Some cassettes just rarely shows up. One of the bigger cassettes labels were Takt Music in Warsaw. They started in 1990 as Tact then changed name in 1991 to Takt Music who existed up until 1994 before becoming a major pressing plant in Poland and changing the name to Takt.
Penikufesin is one of the best EP’s from the Thrash metal era and at the time it was only released in Europe. Now Its Dark was lifted of the album and its backed up by 5 exclusive tracks that all where recorded during the State Of Euphoria studio session. First out is a French version of the Trust track Antisocial. The band did a perfect job translating and performing it in English on the State Of Euphoria album by trimming and tightening it. Here we have Trust vocalist Bernie Bonvoisin singing along with Joey Belladonna in French. The idea was fun but Belladonna has a bit of problem keeping up with the French lyrics so its obvious that choosing the English version to the album was the right choice. More covers follows; a metal version of Sex Pistols Friggin In The Riggin is nicely done without losing the tongue-in-cheek attitude of the original. Yes, the song is funny. And Anthrax were the best thrash band when it came to being funny. The Kiss track Parasite is amazing and energetic and especially Joey Belladonna does a marvelous job on vocals. Another Trust song, Sects, and a surf-metal version of The Ventures/The Chantays song Pipeline ends the album. Anthrax picks songs from a broad spectrum and make it all work and all falls into place here. This is brilliant and at the time they were probably the best metal band when it came to making cover songs.
