Description
2011 press on red vinyl with printed innersleeve
The first of two Anvil offerings originally released on Metal Blade. The band were unsure in which direction they would go and it may have been due to increasing commercial and legal concerns that followed their long period without a record contract. All the split in ideas makes it feel like a completely unfocused album. However, the music contained is really not all that commercial or poppy, as some seem to think. Songs like Mad Dog, Concrete Jungle and the title track are all good mid-paced heavy metal anthems. Strength of Steel is not the ‘sellout’ everyone made it out to be. Rather, it is a heavy slab of molten metal!
