2008 years album Hornets Of The Pogrom is now hailed as one of the most essential (and existential) extreme metal releases of that year. Ever clouded in controversy, Arghoslents radical outsider attitude and highly touchy lyrical subject matter makes them a band of much debate, musically however few are better with their highly epic and melodic take on the old death metal nugget. Upon starting this album, you will be greeted with some riffs and a new singer that is very much an improvement to the band. His vocals fit the war-centred style of death metal they write perfectly. Although a bit generic, there’s not really a reason to change the vocal style here. They work well, and changing the formula is simply too risky. This album is addictive, and tops their other albums in nearly every aspect, with crushing riffs and even better vocals. If you consider yourself a fan of death metal in any way, then you have no excuse not to give this album a listen.
