French black metal act Armageddon was formed in La Buisse back in 2002. They say on the back cover that they play true elitist black metal and youre almost expecting some blasting black metal. But its no Panzer Division Marduk. This is mid-tempo, simple and semi-melodic even if the vocals screams hate and the production is rough. Yes, Armaggedon do wear their Darkthrone and Celtic Frost influences on their sleeve, but they have their own signature tricks too, namely a happy knack of delivering interesting counterpoints to the central riffs. This is rough mid-drenched orthodox French black metal
