The American southern rock band ARS (Atlanta Rhythm Section) was formed in 1970 and they had developed a consistent sound through the 70s and early 80s and had their greatest chart success with Ronnie Hammond as lead singer between 1972 and 1982. Only one single was released from their 1981 album, Quinella. The single was Alien and it would be the bands final Top 40 hit, peaking at No. 29 on the Billboard Hot 100. It reached the top 20 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary and Rock charts, peaking at No. 16 and No. 18, respectively. The B-side Southern Exposure was also taken fromthat tenth studio album, Quinella
