Inception is the first album in four year from this Swedish melodic hard rock band. When the band released their debut album Revolution in 2015, everything went extremely fast. Suddenly the band were on tour, doing shows on some of the biggest stages in Sweden and walking the red carpet of the Grammy Awards. At the same time, they were navigating the difficulties of being a bunch of kids, playing in a band where no one had any experience of doing all the things that they were expected to do. Two more albums followed, Liberation (2017) and Transition (2019) and after that the band and the friendship they had just fell apart. Vocalist Alexander Strandell joined the Swedish supergroup Crowne (with members of Europe, H.E.A.T. and Dynazty). After the Crowne album Strandell and guitarist Christoffer Borg got back together to clear things up and the two along with bassist Richard Svärd and drummer Alexander Lundgren has now gotten back together and has managed to re-established that great musical spirit and chemistry they had when they first started the band and with their album Inception they have created a powerful musical statement. Huge, anthemic melodic hard rock mixed with European metal influences throughout make Inception an undeniably enjoyable sonic delight. The album is similar in many ways to Eclipse, Heat and One Desire. Very melodic. Absolutely recommended.
