Description

2020 Us pressing on yellow vinyl

Pasadena, Usa based hardrock act Autograph hit it big in 1984 with the pop-metal party anthem Turn Up The Radio. Autograph’s winning blend of sophisticated and melodic AOR and pop-metal drew comparisons to artists like Van Halen, Fastway, and Slade. After two succesful albums and tours with Heart and Motley Crue the label stopped supporting the band. Their third album Loud And Clear was another strong album but the label and band went seperate ways which ultimately saw the band falling apart in 1989. Original singer Steve Plunkett wrote some songs for the 2001 Mark Wahlberg vehicle Rock Star. This gave Plunkett the hunger to start writing again and reformed Autograph with a completely new line up and returned in 2003 with the album Buzz. Plunkett is still very much influenced by Def Leppard in his song writing. This is perfect melodic hardrock with an American touch. Buzz goes from the sweet but pleasant ballad (That) to the fast tracks (Fed Up With Beein Down) and some original tracks like the 70’s pop chorus on the eponymous track or the heavier Can’t Stop Rockin which reminds us of Kiss. This album didnt do anything for the band and they broke up in 2005. But fans of melodic hardrock should check this out since its an excellent album that will give you a good time.
