Autumn Tears fourth album and its still neoclassical darkwave, sublime and gothic. Bu this time around it also slips into dark-folk territory with tracks like ‘Ophelias Crown’ and ‘Flight’. Autumn Tears has always drawn their influences from such masters as Bach, Brahms, Hayden, Mahler and a host of others. Their music is driven by a mix of male and female vocals. The intense sadness of their songs rips at the heart and the poetry of the music clings to the ears. The lyrics in all respects are well written, enough to suit the music’s very emotional atmosphere. The track ‘Remember’ has the best example of this: ‘mirror reflects pools of water dripping timelessly from scars of a mortal coil the majestic garden wounded. shares her wisdom no longer and with this… I remember…’ While lyrics like this are normally present in darkwave and goth rock, this album has the proper keyboard and piano use to make it work.
