Description
Avskum belongs to the classic Swedish punk generation and they have been blasting d-beat music and screaming over all the wrongs in humanity for a very long time. They debuted with a demo back in 1982 but it was with their 1984 single Crucified By The System that the punks in Sweden took notice (it opens with the strong track Glom Aldrig Hiroshima/Never Forget Hiroshima). The punk fanzines at the time however mocked the bands imperfect English. When the band released Uppror Underifran/Rebellion From Below in 2008 they probably sounded better than they ever had. Uppror Underifrån is a punk manifesto. Each and every one of the 16 muscular, bull-necked tracks simply refuses to let up, benefiting from a raging, punch-in-the-face production that bursts from the speakers like something wild and uncaged, hollering up its guts and baying for nothing less than complete and utter bloody carnage for its 25-minute duration. It is militant and powerful and vocalist Gunnar is a real manic on this one. He sounds so frustrated with his angry and pissed off voice. Avskum has created an album in the same class as Uncurbed, Skitsystem and Totalitarian, in other words its brilliant Track listing: 1. Kapitalismens Yttersta Dagar 2. Masskonsumtions Helvetet 3. Patriarkhatet 4. Slutet 5. The Massacre In Fallujah 6. Befria Dom Rika 7. Killed By The State 8. Uppror Underifran 9. Posttraumatiskt Helvete 10. Nationalstaten Faller 11. Porrtorsk 12. Krig Ar Ett Javla Vansinne 13. Forbannade Forintelse 14. Dodsfabriken 15. Capitalism Is Terrorism 16. Vem Fan Ar Terrorist? Din Rika Javel
