Azaghal is one of Finland’s most enduring black metal acts and a band that claims that they have sold their souls to the never ending darkness. In particular mastermind Narqarth ensures that the Satanic aura is omnipresent in all he does. This rehearsal demo was the bands third demo and the one that lead the band to the recording of their debut album Mustamaa. If you like this band you need this demo because only one track survived and ended up on their debut and it was the coming title track Mustamaa. Like all of the bands early recordings they have an aggressive, frozen sound and an misanthropic approach. This would become their trademark and grimness and rawness are two important elements in this kind of black metal. Here we have a sum of what black metal is about. We can meet obviously Darkthrone influences along with early Hellhammer drums parts and a sort of punk attitude. All in all, a demo to admire for sincerity and passion and, most of all, their pure madness. Crazy Finnish guys playing raw black metal
