Backyard Babies started out as incredibly energetic punk rockers. Being from Sweden, their great advantage was that they cared little for the rules of British and American punk, and added metal, glam, and power pop to their sound to create real excitement. ‘People Like People Like People Like Us’ has an overall good vibe with some hard rock with great hooks. Songs that display the old Backyard Babies energy and could be counted as future classics are ‘Dysfunctional Professional’, ‘Blitzkrieg Loveshock’ and ‘Hold em Down’. A track like ‘Roads’ features some laid back country rock and comes out surprisingly fresh. People like us should like people that write music like this.
