Bakers Pink, was a rock quartet made up of singer Michael Anthony Franano, guitarist Mike Greene, bass player Randy Jordan, and drummer Shane. This is a continuation of the band The Front that released one dark wavy Cult inspired album back in 1989. A few years later the band re-appeared again but under the new name of Bakers Pink. The band released one album in 1993 and it was a textbook example of the kind of rock music that record labels were banking on before grunge came along. During the recording of the album Nirvana made it big and grunge were the new thing and the Bakers Pink album was doomed to fail before it was released. This is real shame because the album offers a lot and fits nicely into the alternative metal where it alternates between funky rave-ups à la Mother Love Bone or spiritually motivated metal straight out of the Cult’s songbook. If you enjoy 90’s alternative rock, you cannot go wrong with Baker’s Pink.
