The soundtrack to the Arnold Schwarzenegger epic Conan the Barbarian consists of the dramatic, exciting score from Basil Poledouris. His grand, sweeping arrangements capture the roaring adventure of the film. Even though the movie is great looking it wouldn’t be the classic it’s seen as today without this score. Anvil Of Crom, Civilization, Wheel Of Pain, Atlantean Sword, Battle Of The Mounds, every track returns you to that scene and you’re off on another epic fantasy adventure. The late Basil Poledouris crafted a rousing and involving score that characterizes the barely civilized world of Robert E. Howard’s Hyborian Age. Nintendo used Riddle of Steel/Riders of Doom for multiple Legend of Zelda trailers and if that’s not an endorsement I dunno what is.
