Recorded in 2009/2010, and originally released in 2014 – this amazing piece of heavy, speedy metal is widely regarded as one of Norways finest underground metal releases from modern times. The album plays like a chronological tribute to 80’s metal. Meaning that there are 9 tracks, and it actually sounds like the songs gradually take you on a tour from 1981 through 1989. The first few songs have a NWOBHM/hard rock sound, then the album moves into a thrash/speed direction, and finally the last few songs sound are in a death/black/doom vein. But these transitions aren’t exact – rather the styles overlap. At any rate, the vocalist is very flexible. But still these guys have an overall loose and confident sound that is refreshing to listen to. I can hear a ton of influences in this album. Practically all the important classic metal groups. A strange brew of Diamond Head, Iron Maiden, Venom, Metallica, Slayer, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Possessed, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Candlemass, Tiamat, Asphyx, etc. I’m probably leaving a lot of groups out, but that gives a general idea. Its a very interesting album due to its concept but I also think it could give a diffuse feel with so many styles presents.
